Age VS Generation

Age VS Generation

Hello Everyone

Just a quick clarification as we have had some questions about this lately and we want to make it VERY clear :)

Generation is in simple English "the strength or power of your blood", 1 dot makes you a Neonate, 2 dots make you Ancillae, 3 dots make you Elder and anything more than that is cheating and not allowed in our game! The definition of Neonate/Ancillae/Elder is for strength of blood ONLY not how you are seen by the tower...

Age. To be an Elder you must be 300 years "awake and functioning as a member of the Ivory Tower (Camarilla)". To be an Ancillae you must be 50 years "awake and functioning as a member of the Ivory Tower (Camarilla)". To be a Neonate you are under 50 years "awake and functioning as a member of the Ivory Tower (Camarilla)".

To be called an Elder as per the Book you must be BOTH Elder by blood and by age. Thus you must have 3 dots in Generation AND be "awake and functioning as a member of the Ivory Tower (Camarilla)" for over 300 years!

To be called an Ancillae as per the Book you must be BOTH Ancillae by blood and by age. Thus you must have 2 dots in Generations AND be "awake and functioning as a member of the Ivory Tower (Camarilla)" for over 50 years.

To be called a Neonate as per the Book you must be less than 50 years of age. Your dots in generation don't matter. You can have 3 dots in Generation but unless you are over 50 years old you are still a Neonate!

There are merits you can take that allow you different social status, such as Machiavellian Prodigy... if you are unsure what this Merit does it is listed in the Book under merits and flaws. Please ask an ST if you are unsure.
